We Carry Tourism into the Future by Protecting Belek’s Natural Values

BETUYAB carries out many projects focused on environmental protection, ecosystem management, and improving destination quality in order to ensure the sustainable development of the Belek Tourism Center. The efforts aim to maintain the balance between tourism investments and the natural environment, supported by scientific research and international cooperation.

Protecting Belek’s natural ecosystem, improving the region’s tourism quality, and promoting a sustainable tourism approach are among BETUYAB’s core priorities.

Shaping Belek’s Future with Sustainable Tourism

We add value to Belek’s future through efforts carried out in line with the protection of natural resources, the promotion of environmentally friendly practices, and the adoption of a sustainable tourism approach.

Sustainable environmental policies are supported through waste management and recycling practices.
Sectoral collaborations are being developed to promote the dissemination of sustainable tourism practices.
Environmental projects are being carried out to protect biodiversity in the region.
Practices aimed at increasing water and energy efficiency are being encouraged.

Integrated Vector Control Program

In the Belek region, control efforts against vectors such as mosquitoes, houseflies, and sand flies have been carried out by BETUYAB since 1994.

It covers an area of 270 km².
It is carried out using environmentally friendly biological methods.
It has achieved a reduction of 85–90% in the vector population in the region.
BETUYAB allocates an annual budget of approximately 300,000 Euros for this program.

Environmental Projects

BETUYAB adopts environmental sensitivity as a fundamental principle in the projects carried out in the Belek Tourism Center. Scientific studies and sustainable tourism practices that protect the natural structure of the region form the basis of Belek’s long-term tourism success.

The integrated environmental management model developed as a result of scientific research conducted between 1989–1994 serves as an example for tourism regions with similar ecosystems.

Biodiversity and Ecotourism

BETUYAB carries out various projects in cooperation with universities in order to protect Belek’s rich biodiversity.
