Davis Cup Excitement Was Experienced in Belek

In the Davis Cup Europe-Africa Zone Group I playoff matches held at Megasaray Tennis Academy in Belek Tourism Center, the Israel National Team defeated the Turkey National Team 3-1.

After the two singles matches played on the first day of the competition, the score was tied at 1-1. On the second day, one singles and one doubles match were played. In doubles, the pair Yankı Erel-Cem İlkel lost 2-0 to Daniel Cukierman-Jonathan Erlich with sets of 6-3 and 6-1. In singles, Cem İlkel lost to Edan Leshem with sets of 6-2 and 7-6.

Turkish Tennis Federation President Cengiz Durmuş stated that they wanted to defeat Israel and rise to World Group 1 for the first time in Turkish tennis history, and that they were saddened by not achieving this.
