Davis Cup in Belek
The Turkish National Men’s Tennis Team will face Israel in the Davis Cup Europe-Africa Zone Group I playoff matches. The matches, to be played on March 6–7, will be hosted by Megasaray Tennis Academy located in Belek Tourism Center.
The national team, captained by Haluk Akkoyun, consists of world No. 198 Cem İlkel, who achieved Turkey’s first Challenger victory in Davis Cup history, 23-year-old world No. 327 Altuğ Çelikbilek, experienced player world No. 543 Marsel İlhan, doubles specialist Sarp Ağabigün, and 2018 Wimbledon junior doubles champion Yankı Erel.
Israel will compete with a team consisting of world No. 353 Edan Leshem, No. 404 Yshai Oliel, No. 555 Ben Patael, No. 829 Daniel Cukierman, and doubles world No. 64 Jonathan Erlich, who also serves as the team captain.
Following the opening ceremony on Friday, March 6 at Megasaray Tennis Academy in Belek Tourism Center, the matches will begin at 12:00 with two singles matches. On Saturday, March 7, starting at 11:00, one doubles match and two singles matches will be played.
