Rescue Campaign for Injured Loggerhead Turtles on Belek Beach

As part of our Social Responsibility projects, our Union has been continuing to protect sea turtles on our beaches through the “Sea Turtle (Caretta Caretta) Protection and Research Project” conducted in collaboration with Hacettepe University since 1999, with the support of our facilities.

Upon receiving reports of injured sea turtles from Club Asteria Belek and Xanadu Resort Hotel in our region, our team visited the facilities and brought the turtles to our Union for treatment. One of the treated turtles was transported the same day to the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center in Dalyan by the Nature Conservation and National Parks vehicle, while the other injured turtle was handed over to Dekamer Director Prof. Dr. Yakup KASKA.

The current condition of these two turtles is very good, and they will be released back into their natural habitat once fully recovered.
